The Government has announced in the 2022 Budget that the National Living Wage will increase to £9.50 from April 2022. Ministers have accepted the Low Pay Commission’s recommendation for a 6.6% increase from £8.91, which applies to workers aged 23 and over. Writes HR Scotland.

*Employers who have employees on sickness absence or maternity leave etc., in the run-up
to April 2022, must remember to factor in the increases for these employees where there
absence continues past the rate change date, as well as employees who go on sick leave,
maternity leave etc after the new rates are in place.
